Search Called Off For Torrance Courthouse Escapee

A man about to appear in a Torrance courtroom on burglary charges instead decided to make a run for it, according to a report by the Daily Breeze. The defendant, Danny Olmos, fled from the courtroom just as the judge announced he was increasing his bail by $50,000. Court records indicate he was facing conspiracy and burglary charges.

The search for Olmos was called off several hours after he escaped and Deputies believe he may have escaped in a white car. Olmos' Public Defender said that although he had been facing approximately three years in jail for his current charges that he "now faces a much longer jail term if convicted".
