Lomita Murder Suspect Attempts Suicide
Earlier this year it was reported that murder suspect David Viens attemped to take his life after it was learned that investigators found blood in his house. Although he jumped from an 80-foot cliff, Viens survived and was taken to a local hospital where he confessed to the crime. He later pled not-guilty.

Sexual Misconduct, Bribery Allegations At Manhattan Beach City Hall
In 2009 former Manhattan Beach City Manager Geoff Dolan resigned abruptly with no explanation. In March 2011, an anonymous letter to City Hall was released citing Dolan had lathered unwanted sexual advances on a female employee and was paid $270,000 to leave quietly. The City Council then fired City Attorney Robert Walden for his efforts to "keep the Dolan affair out of public view". Both Walden and Dolan are now suing the city; Dolan for violation of privacy, Walden for wrongful termination.
High Profile Murder-Suspects Sentenced
Two Navy seamen were convicted and sentenced to 26-years to life for the 2007 murder of Sonia Risken. At the time Risken, 60, was under investigation for the deaths of her first two husbands, a retired Navy commander and a retired Marine.
